About Jerry Driesens

First and foremost, I am a Christian.  It is my desire to be known as a Christian:  husband, father, grandfather, friend, employer, and Realtor. I live in Pagosa Springs, Colorado with my wife, Joan.  I have three grown daughters; Marrie, Molly and Heidi and two son-in-laws; Michael and Barry, and a grandaughter, Makenzie.  I am also a cancer patient and have been fighting it since 2002.  I enjoy fishing, hiking, rafting, kayaking, skiing, windsurfing, gardening,  elk hunting, reading and a little writing.   I hope that you enjoy my news and health updates, photos, stories and book reviews in my blog.  Even more so, it is my prayer that you are either ecouraged in your faith or are led to faith in my precious Lord and Savior, Creator and Sustainer – Jesus Christ.  May both the fun and the serious parts of this weblog give glory to Him!  I look forward to your comments and hope my relationship with you will be strenthened and enriched by this endeavor.  God bless you!  Jerry

  1. Dear Mr. Driesens,

I was one of your Jr. High students (Miquela Daugaard), I remember having the distinct honor of having (3) of your classes in a row every afternoon after lunch…luckily for me I adored having you as my teacher. You were a wonderful and gifted teacher and had the ability to make your students feel special, smart and talented. I am all grown up now (screeching towards 40 to be exact) but I still carry your lessons with me and I hold you in a very special place in my heart. I had some challenges while I was growing up, but in your class I felt safe and my opinions and my presence were valued…you’ll never know how much that meant to me! I now live in Pennsylvania and I am married with a 2 year old little boy and I hope that he is blessed with a teacher like you as he grows up. I found your website through google…my heart was heavy when I read about your illness. But I know that you will meet your challenges with that wonderful spirit of yours and still teach everyone around you about living life well. Love & Best Wishes, Miquela

  2. Jerry,

For some reason I googled your name and found this amazing testimony to our Lord. You and Joanie are some of those giants who stand out in our memory and this blog is contains the evidence of the legacy you have. Congratulations on your new family members. You are truly blessed and a blessing.

Debbie & Mitch (You may not remember us but we lived in Pagosa and attended church with you from 1994 to 1997)

  3. Coach Driesens,
Just was thinking about the old days lately, and started to think about you, and how you were feeling. It is good to see that you are still doing well and looks as if you have been keeping busy. I often think about all of the lessons that you tought me in the classroom, the baseball field, and in life. (I know less in the classroom than you would have liked) but neverless, I got by. Everything is going good in Vegas. Economy hurting my business a little bit, but were getting by. We hope to get back there in the summer to visit and do some fishing. Hope all is well and we will see you this summer. Keep in touch, my e-mail is collettiinlv@yahoo.com.
