Sorry I haven’t written much in a quite a while, it’s so rare that I even feel like I have enough energy to do that, so have gotten Joanie to do most of my updating. I am having a better day than most, even though just about the same level of energy. I did manage to shave myself and take a shower myself with comfort and success before Mike Coppenger made it over here by10:00 to “babysit” me while Joanie went to our church and Bobbi Coppenger went to their church. Then they met back here for lunch where we enjoyed a lakeside lunch on the deck while the fall colors turned all around us on this perfect Indian Summer Day.
We have such wonderful, faithful friends. Usually Paul Henry does this for us on Sunday mornings and Thursdays while Joanie is at Mom’s in Touch or out getting groceries, but the Henry’s went to the Albuquerque this weekend. These friends along with George and Linda Muirhead and Bill and Barbara Fair have kept us “covered” for all these thing for all these months when we didn’t have relatives here helping us.
Anyway, while I may not feel like writing often myself, please know that these things are going on, for which we are very thankful indeed. Thank you for your continued prayers. I continue to find myself lying down most hours of most days with no energy for anything else it seems and no appetite, I get along well with my hospice workers very well. Please continue your prayers for Joanie as she continues in her effort of love without complaint. If it would be according to Gods’s will, I am willing and ready for Him to take me home soon, nevertheless, His Will, not Mine! Love, Jerry
Wonderful to hear from you and to know you were able to eat lunch out on the deck. Hank and I are now back home in Texas and are also enjoying beautiful weather. It was a rough summer in Texas and we are so fortunate to be able to spend the summers in Pagosa. We continue to pray for both you and JoanIe. We love you both. Love, MaryB

Dear Jerry, What a thrill to find your post when I turned on the computer. I have been sick today and that gave me more than the ususal time to think. Off and on I was praying and thinking of you and Joanie. It’s wonderful to hear of your “covering” friends, fellowship on the deck and beautiful weather. It was good of you to use your precious energy to write. Whenever our Lord calls you to your home in heaven we will miss you very much, so “hearing” your voice through your post is dear. Knowing you may soon be lifting your voice before God’s throne, worshipping him with gladness and coming before him with joyful songs is a comfort. It is he who made us and we are his, his love endures forever and his faithfulness through all generations. May all of us rest in his promises, knowing the Lord is God and good. Love you, Susan

Jerry, I too was elated to see your post. Think and pray nearly daily for you and Joanie. Did a revival this past week and called out your name in one of the messages as an example of a Christian should be. Eternal thanks for how you let our Father use you. Jim

Mr. Driesens, I think of you, Joanie and your family daily and continue to pray for you. It is difficult not to come to tears as I read this post. I have been worrying about you. It is so good to hear from you.
I love you and thank you for making a difference in my life and the lives of many others.

Jerry, you are my greatest mentor. You taught me before we met in person, and you have continued for over five years teaching me. I have learned about fishing and surgery and so many more important things during that time.
Now you are teaching me what I most need to know…how to finish well and with grace and reliance on our great and good God!

I love it that you have a thousand friends who love you and know how neat you are. It will be so great to meet all your friends some day, if not here, then on the other side……
Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. I Cor. 2:9
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Cor 4:16 Love, Mar
